The Role:
The Enrollment and Retention Advisor will report directly to the HEP Program Manager.
The ERA will follow the High School Equivalency Program's grant goals by recruiting eligible migrant and seasonal farmworker students through personal/professional contacts, referrals, printed materials, radio advertisement, collaborations with our community partners, health and educational fairs, and other.
Will also provide specialized advising in career placement, vocational training, and/or postsecondary education to meet grants recruitment and placement goals.

Job DutiesRecruitment and Outreach- Supervises and coordinates tasks and projects for part-time recruiters.
- Coordinates outreach and recruitment including developing marketing materials and conducting direct recruitment campaigns; assists HEP Program Manager in conducting annual enrollment projections, facilitates enrollment plans to meet annual enrollment and GED completion goals.
- Coordinates recruitment materials through CWU and approved vendors.
- Coordinates educational and cultural events for our students.
- Creates program awareness via presentations and disseminating program information/flyers to local school districts, communities, publications/radio/television media and outside organizations/non-profit agencies.
- Participates in maintaining cooperative/partnership agreements, including referral agents within Yakima County area; maintains collaborative relationships with Central Washington region service area migrant programs, school districts, DSHS, Employment Security, Workforce Investment Act, business/employer community and other agencies.
- Ensures eligibility of prospective students and conducts quarterly student record audits/reports.
- Independently evaluates the student application, academic records and work histories of prospective students, conducts interviews/staffing, and makes decisions regarding acceptance into the program (based on US Department of Education eligibility criteria).
Advising- Designated advisor for all program participants; participates in identifying, intervening and providing direct academic and support resources to at-risk student population.
- Provides general program application advising concerning the program admission process, program services, and post-secondary opportunities.
- Facilitates student career development/planning, placement services and HEP volunteers, internships, and employment skills development project; including educational/career cooperative relationships.
- Coordinates educational and cultural evets for students in collaboration with program assistant.
Partnerships/Committees/Administrative:
- Participates in assessment/testing screening, academic interventions and individual education planning and goal setting; assists Program Manager in development of assessments, questionnaires and procedures for measuring the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction, including curriculum and instructional evaluations.
- Attends staff, administrative, partnership, semi-annual board and other program related meetings.
If Program Manager is not available, attends local/state educational and community committees/taskforces.
- Conducts quarterly, mid-year and annual reports for HEP Program Manager, Department of Education, Yakima District Schools and other agency partnerships/contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Bilingual/Bi-literate in English and Spanish Two years of experience working with underrepresented and diverse populations, specifically migrant/seasonal farmworkers Experience in program outreach, collaboration and as liaison to community social service agencies Experience in education/retention advising with demonstrated experience in student intervention/retention efforts Valid Driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

00pm (1 hour lunch) / This grant funded position is currently funded through June 30, 2026.
Continuation of this position past 06/30/2026 is contingent upon renewed funding being obtained.
Working Conditions:
The Enrollment Retention Advisor position will require job duties in both indoor and outdoor settings; some travel is required for purposes of conducting outreach/networking with organizations and agencies within the Yakima County.
At times individual will be at the office for prolonged periods of time performing recruitment calls, advising, extensive data entry, and maintaining filing system.
Duties may include working some evenings and weekends; candidate must be willing to have flexible schedule.
