Fieldstone Communities Fieldstone Communities Yakima, WA Yakima, WA $22 - $26 an hour $22 - $26 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago POSITION SUMMARY The Maintenance Assistant contributes to our joyful & vibrant communities by working alongside the Maintenance Director, helping with the physical maintenance of the community by assisting with repairs, painting, landscaping and safety checks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for residents.
Assists in implementing preventative maintenance program for facility equipment.
Maintains grounds including outside community repair, lawn maintenance and garbage removal.
Maintains inside of community, offices and common areas in community including carpet and furniture cleaning, window cleaning, painting, removal of trash and upkeep of vinyl.
Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Participates in the Safety Committee.
Prepares apartments for move in and completes refurbishing of apartment after move out, including painting of apartments.
Observes and helps resolve problems that relate to the community and the grounds.
Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
Assists with housekeeping as needed.
Maintains records of resident repairs and works performed.
Performs janitorial tasks and minor repairs.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Education or experience sufficient to meet position requirements or as required by State regulations.
Meets all mandatory health requirements by state regulations.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents and families, community members, volunteers, and other employees.
Has compassion and special interest in working with senior population.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and overtime to meet the requirements of the position.
Ability to report to the community as needed to handle maintenance emergencies.
Acting in an on-call status for emergencies.
Ability to work safely and recognize potentially dangerous situations.
Ability to work on a ladder, perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Pass a Criminal Background & fingerprint check.
Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
