A Production Planner / Scheduler is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the production process.
Responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis to understand the extent of all procedures, identifying the needs of customers, and devising strategies for optimal operations to meet demand.
They must also monitor the company's resources and workforce to ensure that everything runs smoothly in adherence to all schedules, making changes when necessary.
Successful Production Planner / Schedulers are comfortable working in fast-paced environments and will report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Responsibilities for a Production Planner / Scheduler Work with management in coordinating and planning production activities to improve runtime.
Plan production tasks and schedules according to orders.
Develop and review production plan with Managers for approval.
Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.
Escalate complex issues to Manager for resolution.
Investigate production problem, analyze root causes, and provide solutions.
Communicate production status on regular basis.
Analyze back orders, current orders, and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule production operations.
Plan equipment, material, and manpower requirements to execute orders.
Monitor production progress and ensure that final product meets deadlines.
Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives.
Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines.
Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences.
Qualifications:
Prior experience as a master production scheduler in a discrete manufacturing industry required.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Proficient in performing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient use of computer systems and software applications such as Microsoft Suite and ERP systems.
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
Strong regard for product quality and safety standards.
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
Meticulous and diligent.
Able to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time.
