Facility Operations Specialist

Operate and monitor remotely located Water Storage Facilities Function as the local security representative and site safety adviser for Water Storage Facilities Diagnose and repair Federal facilities and equipment Perform hydrological measurements including in-stream flows measurements and computations Communicate and represent the Federal government in local events and meetings To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 in Federal service. Specialized experience at this level is defined as:
planning limited facility maintenance activities; performing dam operations and maintenance; inspecting facilities or facility maintenance work; measuring stream discharge utilizing various devices; observing and noting hydrological conditions for snow surveys; OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related (related education includes major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration); OR a combination of directly related graduate level education and specialized experience that together fully meet the requirement. The preferred applicant has also operated off road vehicles as part of their facility operations, maintenance, or hydrological technician experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If selected, the selectee will be required to provide official college transcripts to verify educational qualifications. An official transcript bears the University Seal and a signature certifying its authenticity and must be provided from the institution awarding the degree. Academic transcripts certified by notary publics are NOT official. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to reporting to work as a condition of employment. Failure to submit official transcripts may be grounds for dismissal or rescission of the job offer.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
