Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision, performing some tasks including repairs on multi-system transmissions, transfer units, rear-end units and transaxles. I can measure, fit and install needed components such as pistons, valves, bearings, gears and cylinders. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Works in tiring and uncomfortable positions for long periods. Must frequently bend, stretch, reach, climb and crouch. Frequently lift up to 40 to 50 pounds, and must push, pull, turn and position heavy parts. Occasionally may changes tires weighing over 60-90 pounds. Working Conditions:
Works both inside and out in adequately ventilated area. Work is dirty, greasy, and noisy. Incumbent is subject to inhalation of exhaust fumes and possibility of cuts, bruises, burns and skin irritations. May be exposed to cold weather when servicing a vehicle broken down on the road.
