Social Service Representative

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Educates Veterans, landlords, and community agencies, about homeless programs. Supports Veterans in their efforts to obtain necessary documents, fill out required forms, submit Public Housing Authority packet information. Develops and maintains relationships with the local public housing authority, community landlords. Conducts groups to educate Veterans utilizing HUD/VASH on tenancy rights and responsibilities. Liaison between all parties, including but not limited to the agency Public Housing Authority (PHA), landlords, community agencies, and Veterans. Assists Veterans to locate apartments that may meet the suitability of environmental, health, welfare and safety conditions required by the public housing authority. Serves as Point of Contact for landlords to ensure applications to lease a unit are completed and the voucher is appropriately submitted to the landlord at the proper time. Creates processes that expedite inspections, such as pre-inspections and/or rapid re-inspections of housing. Creates and maintains a list of landlords, property management companies, and private individuals who may be willing to rent to Veterans. Maintains and provides Veterans with community vacancy listings tailored to their preferences, income, and any barriers. Work Schedule:

Driver's License:
You must possess a valid state issued Driver's License. Specialized
Experience:
MUST possess one (1) year of specialized experience equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Social Services Representative position. To be creditable this experience must be equivalent to the next lower grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in a program of direct social welfare services that required the application of program policy and operations knowledge in providing social welfare services and/or assisting social workers. Specific qualifying experience for this position includes:
Experience navigating social service programs; Experience developing rapport and building relationships with clients and community partners; Experience working as an integral part of a team and functioning in a team environment; Demonstrated experience operating within complex social systems, overcoming barriers, to find creative and positive outcomes; Experience working in shelters, group homes; Experience doing community street outreach; Experience working independently and alone in people's homes, and in the community. NOTE:

MUST have successfully completed six (6) months of graduate education with a major study in social sciences. NOTE:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
