Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element):
Ability to do the work of an Range Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks by gathering tools and supplies, carrying materials, and lifting materials. Operate simple tools to assemble and repair target devices; operate basic hand and power tools to cut trees and brush using axes and chain saws; and keep tools cleans and lubricated. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Use of Measuring Instruments Employee exerts very heavy physical effort in frequently lifting, carrying, and moving range maintenance equipment, supplies, and other items weighing up to23 kilograms (50pounds). Objects weighing over 50 pounds are handled with assistance of other employees or with lifting and/or carrying equipment. Work involves continuous walking, bending,moving and reaching. Works outside in all kinds of weather and temperature extremes, and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, dirty, and noisy. Employee is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, muscle strains, sprains, and to occasional chance of serious injury (e.g.,broken bones, back injury, etc.). Special care must be exercised to avoid serious injury while using powered tools and equipment. Employee must follow established safety procedures and use appropriate protective clothing and/or equipment to minimize hazards in the work area. Some work sites are remote and have no facilities.
